I'm stuck in a bit of an artistic rut at the moment... just in case you hadn't noticed the fact that I haven't submitted something since November. I used to have a head for art, now I can't seem to break through and even think about new things to make. It's like drawing that one good picture sucked the life out of me and now I don't have anything left. lol. Although I have drawn a couple of things they aren't terribly exciting or even worth submitting here.

Hmmm....  Does anyone have any useful suggestions about how I can get the creativity flowing again?

Long time no see.

It's been few times and far between that I've been on a computer, for a couple of reasons. Since I've let quite a few people down over the years through artwork I was supposed to make for them and other stuff, it's about time I explain myself, even if it's vaguely.

Ever since I was a teenager (and a very young child, to a lesser extent) I've had mental issues. I won't go into too much detail, just stuff like feeling like my mind is being controlled by something else, having what I call 'other realities' which is too difficult to explain, weird physical sensations and hideous nightmares that are at times worse than the worst horror films you'll ever see. Kind of explains why I've spent so much time on the computer rather than being at school doesn't it?

Yeah, so... I went from being on the computer a lot to hardly at all. Sometimes it gets too hard to do certain things. It feels like my head is being suffocated, then the will to do something I might normally want to goes away. It's like, I've tried to do so much, so many things, and they don't end up being finished... and all these people get let down. I'm very sorry about this. I mean, I've deferred the last four semesters of school simply because I couldn't work, and felt like I couldn't adequately explain why.

So, as things stand, I went to a psychiatrist yesterday who gave me a prescription for an anti-psychotic. He told me that it should level things off a bit. As things are at the moment, I'm willing to give almost anything a shot.

I haven't had the remotest inclination to make any artwork at all since I started on the drawing of Vandands and stopped a few months ago. It's weird, it just disappears, and it's like my artistic ability never happened. It's about time for me to take the first pill. He warned me that for the first few days to a week I'm likely to feel some nausea, headaches and have trouble sleeping. What's new?

Yep, another crazy person on the internet. Yay for us.

Shit, hey. I just want to apologise to everyone who has left comments, notes or anything else on my page that I haven't replied to. I haven't been on the computer at all much lately, and the longer I leave it the more there is to come back to.

Chances are that it will be a long time before I post anything new on this page, or have the time I want to to check everything, but eventually I'll reply to the messages and stuff people have left. At the least I'm going to try to check the BPC once a week, so sorry to anyone who might have left notes that have remained unchecked within about the last month.

I'm going to try and do this once every week or two. I ain't no good with the fancy words, so the descriptions are far from adequate when it comes to such brilliant pieces of artwork... you'll just have to check them out for yourselves.

"Cheek Mark" by MystWilliams: A fine piece of poetry by one of the finest writers I know. This won't be the last piece of his written work I feature by far.

"humbly dedicated to Sally" by BlackmarketKraig: That's a portrait of me! How could I be anything but flattered. Thanks Kraig

"Sporaphore" by Greedom: This expressive digital artwork is vibrant and dynamic to say the least. Greedom is never one to shy away from eye catching colours and composition, which is a win in my book. And that's a pretty true book, if I do say so myself. And I do. Don't question me.

"Untitled- blue biro" by reddiva: Superbly drawn ballpoint pen drawing of an intimate moment between two people.

"Wolverine" by  the-wild-rover: It's been a while since I've watched the X-Men, but I can still say that Wolverine was my favourite character, alongside Storm. Well worth taking a look at this portrait, even if only for it's uniqueness.

I watch a lot of different people, so am constantly seeing new and interesting artwork pop through my DA message centre. I thought that I might post a journal entry showcasing some of the work that I've seen every now and then, with some sort of vague description to spread the lurve that is seeing other people's artwork. So here goes...

"Two Women Running on the Beach...One Fell." by chapboy: An oddly amusing traditional painting parodying a work by Pablo Picasso.

"Ewen McGregor" by shad0wz0ne: A skillfully drawn, expressive greylead portrait of the actor Ewen McGregor.

"Applejacks" by kris-wilson: If you haven't already seen this comic artist's gallery, you should definately take a look. His work can be a bit hit-and-miss, but when it strikes the right chord in my funny-brain, it's up there with the best of them.

"African Clothingmarket" by aloneinthedark: A fascinating looping animation of, you guessed it, an African Clothingmarket. The drawn in detail is quite impressive.

If you see anything you like among these, I highly recommend checking out the artist's galleries. I do indeed.
